Artist Lucy Knisley has released the final poster of her “HPoster” collection. Right now, for a limited time, she is offering free downloads of all 9 posters she has created (9 for movies 1-8 and a summary poster). If you’ve never seen her work, her posters are comic-strip-like, and include some really quirky conversations and illustrations from the Harry Potter books and movies. She describes them as parodies, but they are parodies that don’t insult the series, which is what I love best about them. I’ve put the “Summharry” below for you all to check out, but please head over to her blog and take a look at all of them. Also, please consider donating to her if you decide to download the printable versions. Here is the link to her blog: OMGRYFFINDOR.. Thanks, Lucy!
io9.com has three new featurettes about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, including one that focuses on Gringotts Bank and shows some amazing new footage. Follow the link to watch the videos.
Good morning! Sorry about the lack of posts – I’ve been very busy, but I did want to report about the announcement from London by J.K. Rowling about the new Pottermore website. And yep, I’m damn excited. Basically, Pottermore centers around the series (finally) going digital, but the website is expected to be much more than that. AP has the full report, but here is just an excerpt:
The project unveiled in London lets Potter fans delve into the world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Sections let users shop for wands in Diagon Alley, travel to Hogwarts from the imaginary Platform 9 3/4 at London’s King’s Cross train station and be sorted into Hogwarts school houses by the perceptive Sorting Hat. Along the way are wand fights, games and new information about characters beloved around the world, including Harry’s reviled relatives, the Dursleys.
Head over to the AP link above for all the information, then visit Pottermore and submit your email. Make sure to check back on July 31 to see if you might get to enter the site early!
UPDATE: Mugglenet has the full transcript of J.K. Rowling’s press conference, but if you want to see her personal announcement on video, head over to the Pottermore YouTube site!
Yesterday afternoon, Apple.com released an exclusive trailer of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. It’s a MUCH better trailer than the last one, though I must say there is too much screaming on Voldemort’s part. Still, the scene in which Lily Potter is telling baby Harry (above) to be strong as tears roll down his little cheeks made my heart ache. View the trailer in HD at the link below.

Yesterday, as is her awesome tradition, JR Rowling announced a little game called Secret Street View on several Harry Potter websites. It came out of the blue, at least to me, but it consisted of finding several coordinates at various Potter-related websites then plugging them into the Secret Street View and zooming in to find different letters on the map. If you would like to play the game yourself, here are the websites to visit first, then go to Secret Street View and plug in the given coordinates one at a time:
Once you collect all the letters and rearrange them, you will get Pottermore. What is “Pottermore”? We don’t know yet! But the announcement comes in 7 days at Pottermore.com and JK Rowling’s YouTube Channel. You can also follow @Pottermore on Twitter. I’m so excited I can hardly sit still. Just when we thought it was all over…
We’re only one month away from the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, so I thought a tribute to the last 10 years of Harry Potter movies would be in order. “Through the Pensieve” is a fan-made video montage of all 8 movies, with some wonderful looks back at the trio from the beginning of it all, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. And, just in case you haven’t seen them yet, Warner Bros. released some new posters for Part 2 back on June 8th – view them all over at Mugglenet.com. Enjoy!
The wait is over, fans of Potter! Last night, Warner Bros. released the first full length trailer from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on ABC Family. You can view the trailer in all it’s HD glory below, and read my take on it as well.
